I love bikes and I want you to love bikes too. I have been riding bikes for most of my life and when I am on a bike, things just tend to make sense. Group rides have turned acquaintances into lifelong friends, and races have introduced me to competitors who have pushed me to be a better person and a better athlete. The cycling community I have met through the years has always been a source of joy and encouragement. Cycling has also been a place where I can drown out or process what is and isn’t important. Whether it is a mountain bike ride or a long road ride, God helps me put things into perspective when I’m on two wheels. The vision of Rolling H is to generate enthusiasm for Nampa’s growing cycling community and encourage cyclists to do what they love…ride.

College and work/life experience helped me to discover two things about myself. One, I love being active…being outside, working out, anything that is physically challenging. Second, I love to teach. I believe the best way to share something good is to talk about it, show people how it’s done and the difference it can make. As a small business owner, I wear a lot of hats. I’m a salesman, mechanic, janitor, coach, athlete, employer, program director and volunteer. I do it all and fortunately, I love it all…maybe not scrubbing toilets but still. I’m here to help. I’m here to teach and to expose people to cycling because it is simply one of my favorite things to do and communities to be a part of.
Adam and I were married in 2009, it was then I was introduced to a truer form of cycling, the kind with helmets, rules, athletes, lycra and community . I appreciate cycling in different ways today than I did as a kid but what I really love about our shop, are the people who make it what it is. I work full time outside of RHC but I find great satisfaction in supporting Adam, deep contentment in knowing I’m putting my business admin skill set to use, and joy in knowing the shop is a hub for people who are in pursuit of connection.

I love the idea of community-the notion of living, working, shopping and playing in a given space makes me smile. Living near Rolling H Cycles, gives me the opportunity to walk or to ride my bike to work every day. I am not a hardcore cyclist; I am, however, a champion of people and supporting whatever passions they may have (including cycling). I get to turn a wrench on an object that gives people an opportunity to live, work, shop and play in their community. If my job can make them smile a bit wider while doing any of these things, then the concept of community has really come full circle-or, at the very least, “rolling” in the right direction. Yep…that was a work pun.
