85 or 52 miles. Spectacular scenery, 33 miles of gravel-grinding. Saturday April 29th, 2017.
The Montana Hell Ride is based in the Big Flat Area of Missoula, MT (3300 Snowdrift Lane). The ride will start out mellow down Mullan Road. Eventually you hit a short dirt section on 9 mile road. You work your way to Alberton where the rest stop is. From there the 52 mile group embarks on the Southside Road, which is an all dirt road back to the start. The 85 mile group climbs Petty Creek to the Jack Saloon, then turns around and heads back the way they came, eventually hooking into Southside Road for the dirt finale. The aid station will have water, nutrition bars, gels, and fruit. There will be four support vehicles on course. They will have a floor pump and tool kit, but bring your own repair kit as well. The finish will be 5.2 miles away from the start, that means a nice cool down ride. There will be sodas at finish, the rest of the food will be at the start line.
